Hmmm. My sister thought up this one, and I'm a little more than a little intimidated. She says you can take ten items and make thirty outfits, but I'm going to have to see it to believe it. So... I'm going to challenge myself, and her, and any other crazy fashionistas I know, to come up with ten item, thirty outfit thing. Does that seem possible? One way to find out. I'm not suggesting the actual thirty day wearing of those ten things, just a photo collage and a nice big dress up party with the body double. It could be really exciting to integrate in a seasonal capsule kind of thing. Hmmm.
Oh, to start off the inspiration, I have a link to NEXT a malaysian fashion company that is about low consumer, high yield products. They carry it to the next level. Ten items for 1 year. Gasp. Did I just say a year? Oh, yeah:0 The lady who did the black dress for one year is going to do it, so we'll have to check that out every once in awhile. Here's the link http://theultraultra.com/?page_id=862 to Next. We're talking about jackets that transform into pants, that kind of thing. Mind boggling but very very cool.

Stripe that!
I LOVE IT!!! What a great skirt, and without a pattern! It was a little bit mind boggling getting those all different directions and my eyes went a big buggy, but yay! Better than I hoped! This whole outfit is Made by me, and it fits GREAT!

Sew Sew Sew... Another good trick that I know
Sewing is my thing, kind of with the whole refashion movement, that and it's psychologically easier for me to cut into something that isn't a beautiful untouched piece of woven threads. At any rate, I want a sewing wardrobe blog, and since this is Crow Hill, which has nothing to do with anything, I may as well do that. So first of all, a link to a skirt that someone made from a skirt I was thinking of knocking off, and then later i'll post pics of my versions. If that works. So here we go. Link time!

And hopefully that works:)

Not So Red
Yes, the cinematography was evocative and dramatic, the costuming was grand, and the overall grandeur was... grand. But the ending was so contraindicative. The plot was all right, the plot wasn't particularly plotty, not a mystery so much as a... guess who it is with all the clues pointing to everyone else.
The whole time I was wondering why they didn't do a test where they made everyone go into the church and see who did and didn't burn. Simple, brisk, no one roasted in the elephant. I liked the elephant though. It was so arbitrary and extraneous. Can't help like something that bizarre. Will I watch it again? Mmmm, the actor can't act however big her eyes are. The cute guys were kind of skinny to be woodsmen, if you know what I mean;) So probably no. But it was fun and I didn't fall asleep.

Arbitrary Rabbits
Cuteness comes in small packages, those too big heads, too large eyes, the sweetness and innocence that seems to appeal to that place in your heart that your logic never goes. Spring is a time for blooming cuteness, baby rabbits the size of your palm, dashing across the lawn in awkward hops, kittens pouncing and bouncing out of sheer energy, lambs, bambis, calves, baby moles even, all showing the world cuteness only a few can deny.

Claws and Kisses
Because if you're going to do something, you may as well do it right. My hero is vulnerable. Slightly. We don't want weakness, no, that's... weak. So, he's tormented with the desire to take something he knows he shouldn't, tormented with the knowledge that something he has today will be gone tomorrow. Tormented with the knowledge that every moment is a fluke, a heaven destined to crash and burn in a bloody... And she is cute in his too big boots, and big black coat, with her messy hair, and big eyes, dark eyes in a pale face, mushroom pale peering up at him. Vulnerable with a core of steel you can see when she knows you aren't telling her something.

spooning
Under the humid June heat, with the beating of the sun, the air so thick you have to open your mouth slightly, a panting kind of day, too far to the shed to gather real tools, so I'm left with a spoon for my candypop reds. The soil is friable, dark, rich and loamy, the sort of soil weeds compete over, victors many. We'll see how long the dirt stays brown, a color too quickly consumed, how long the reds reign.
